Vaughan Sound has completed another impressive educational AV project, which has formed an integral part of the first maintained 3-16 school in Wales funded by the Welsh Government and Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council.
Appointed by leading contractors Leadbitter Construction, Vaughan Sound was tasked with specifying, installing and commissioning a range of systems including; induction loops, performance sound and lighting for the Main Hall, SEN Gymnasium and Primary School Gymnasium, classroom AV, observational technology within the ICM Therapy Room, and a bespoke Hydrotherapy Pool lighting scheme.
Included within Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council’s plans for transformation and 21st century education across the unitary authority, the Primary phase on the Hot Mill plateau has been designed to accommodate 420 pupils, with the new SEN school providing capacity for a further 120-150 on the former steelworks site. The Integrated Children’s Centre (ICC) is located within the building and managed as part of the 3-16 school, providing a number of services including day care and community facilities.
The completed integration and commissioning of all specialist AV products is the latest stage in our involvement across The Works, with further installations well underway at the neighbouring Cold Mill site, which now houses the 11-16 phase. This site accommodates 1200 pupils, with a new Leisure Centre offering excellent sporting facilities alongside state-of-the-art, flexible learning spaces.
