Vaughan Sound has specified and installed AV systems throughout Penallta House, the new £20 million headquarters for Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Requested by electrical contractor HighAdmit Projects, who worked for principal building contractor HBG, Vaughan Sound’s specialist integration skills were required to provide the building with flexible and intuitive to use AV systems.
The eight meeting rooms were supplied with appropriate equipment – including a Sanyo projector, a retractable electric screen, a six-button AMX touch panel controller and a floor box containing plug-ins for laptops, DVD and peripheral devices – that can all be easily operated by non-technical staff.
Similar systems were provided to the cabinet and committee rooms, with the additional installation of high end audio reinforcement and controllers. The former also received an interactive white board facility for presentations and discussions, and a conferencing system. A full sound system and 16-button AMX panel was installed in the ceremony room, with a complete AV package supplied to the council chamber.
The building also benefitted from 40 induction loops, a disabled refuge system and digital signage comprising 40 inch Sony LCD monitors, with the reception area receiving an additional AMX control unit.
